Show Requirements Standards for entering any show at the Cheyenne Artist Guild:
Original Artwork only- no prints (Unless artwork is photography)
* Original Artwork as defined: The actual work of art from which all other prints, lithographs, serigraphs offset printing, limited and open editions are produced. A one of a kind artwork usually accomplished in oil, acrylic,watercolor, batik, dye, pen and ink, pencil, airbrush, or any other singular or multi-mediums .A one-of a-kind art composition created totally by hand. This includes drawings, painting, handmade prints and sculptures.
Original Photography - Any and all pieces of photography entered in any show must be the soul ownership of the artist. All copyrights will remain the ownership of each individual artist. Photo prints, canvas wraps, prints on metal, etc. are accepted so long as they adhere to the standard set forth by the Cheyenne Artists Guild.
Original Photography as defined: The actual photographic work as captured by the artist. Artist must own any and all copyrights to piece(s) submitted to any show.
If Possible please use Plexiglass instead of glass. - In case something does fall this will minimize injury.
* Plexiglass is not required. We are simply suggesting it as an option when framing your artwork for shows as a safety precaution.
Size Restrictions: Perimeter no larger than 180 inches for framed pieces
Paintings must have sturdy frames. No acetate, brackets, quick frames or any type of clamp leaving exposed glass
Canvasses with sides incorporated into the painting may be frame free.
Sturdy screw eyes, or D-rings along with strong wire are required on all paintings and photographs regardless of size. Any Painting or Photograph that does not have hanging wire or wire backing will not be accepted.
Exposed wire edges need to be covered with tape or rubber tubing
No saw tooth hangers.
No exposed glass edges.
All 3D pieces of artwork must not be over 50 lbs in weight
For medium to large 3D artwork artist must provide stand or secure an appropriate display stand with gallery manager before or at time of drop off
All 3D fiber pieces must have a sturdy level base or a way to hang ot display piece
2D hanging limit 20 lbs max with strong wire or chain
All piece entered in shows must have a Cheyenne Artist Guild tag (tags will be supplied at the time of drop off, other wise artist may neatly print or type out the following information and have it adhered to the back of artwork. Preferably on the upper left hand corner.) Tags will state the following:
Artists Name,Title of piece,Medium,Price,Phone number.
Cheyenne Artists Guild reserves the right to refuse to hang or display any entry deemed inappropriate in nature. We will not be responsible for accidents due to failure to comply with the standards set forth in the hanging protocol document.
